Berkshire Masons support Lift for Lifelites
Berkshire Freemasons were at Donnington Castle, complete with a vintage Alvis Car, to support the Lifelites chief executive in her challenge to visit 48 locations in 15 days. Two Loyal Berkshire Lodge of Hope Freemasons, Brian Sylvester and Brian Bicknell met Simone Enefer-Doy at the iconic castle as part of the Lift for Lifelites event. The event, a county-to-county relay with free lifts from supporters, aims to raise awareness of the work of Lifelites as well as raising funds for local life-limited and disabled children.
Lifelites is a charity that donates specialist technology equipment to every children’s hospice service across the British Isles. The hospices do not have to pay a penny; Lifelites gift the technology, training to the hospice staff, and provide technical support for free.
Simone Enefer-Doy, chief executive of Lifelites, said: “The support we’ve received from the Berkshire Freemasons has been terrific, and the wonderful vintage car was a highlight of the Challenge. This is helping raise the profile of Lifelites here in Berkshire, which we hope will help us to raise the funds we need to continue supporting local children using hospice services.”
The Berkshire Provincial Grand Master, Right Worshipful Brother Anthony Howlett-Bolton, said: “The work that Lifelites does has a significant impact on the children who have life-limiting and life-threatening conditions. Anything that can be done at this stressful time to help both children and their parents we will gladly support.”
